About.
I grew up in a wild house and garden in regional Queensland with a mother who saw wonder everywhere and was a great collector and creator. Despite setting off on an academic path, I find my way winding back to follow hers.
I am a contemporary jeweller working with sterling silver, gold, gems, copper and enamel. I create conceptual work for exhibition, bespoke commissioned jewellery, and ready-to-wear items. I have always been a compulsive maker, and deeply love the variety of processes and transformations possible with precious metal. I have completed workshops with a range of local and interstate makers including Catherine Large, Amy Tavern, and Helen Aitken-Kuhnen. In 2023, I was a finalist in the Toowoomba Regional Gallery’s Contemporary Wearables Prize, and exhibited with the Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Queensland. I am currently working towards a collaborative exhibition in 2025 with another local maker which will explore environmental weeds.
My background in psychology and research greatly informs my perspective and ideas. I am acutely interested in how we perceive and relate to our environment and the natural world, humans as earnest but flawed actors, our enduring love of adornment, and the ability of jewellery to create connections across time and space.
